How it works

TFA is a curated M&A fractional platform of CFOs, CPOs (People), CTOs, Heads of Integration and M&A Directors, not an open directory for generalists. We select only C-suite professionals who thrive in the high-pressure environment of the deal lifecycle and possess a relentless focus on converting potential into realised value.

Every specialist is interviewed by a TFA partner, must provide auditable evidence of their impact on enterprise value, and complete a PE readiness assessment before their profile is approved. This ensures our network remains technically proficient and commercially prepared for the rigour of a PE-backed environment.

Every applicant is interviewed by a TFA partner. We go beyond the CV to understand the specific deals you have navigated, the decisions you influenced, and the tangible value you delivered.
Step 1:
Application
Complete an application form on the platform to confirm your experience aligns with our core mandates. This is the first step in understanding whether TFA is the right fit for where you operate.
Step 4:
Activation and Match
Once approved, your profile is visible to clients whose mandates align with your sector expertise and deal size. When a match is identified, we facilitate the introduction and manage everything commercially from that point forward.
Step 3:
PE Readiness
You will complete a PE readiness assessment through our partner Dexta to verify your ability to operate within high-stakes, investor-led environments. This is what separates our network from a generalist directory.

Fees

Platform Membership
Onboarding and vetting is free. The monthly membership fee of £85 commences only once your first TFA contract is signed, and applies for as long as you remain active on the platform. Reduced rates are available for quarterly or annual commitments.
Set Your Own Rate
You set your own day rate. Whether it’s a full-day rate or a reduced rate to negotiate a higher performance bonus, TFA applies a margin on top, which is charged directly to the client. Your core income is not diluted by us.
Performance fees
Using the TFA Value Scorecard™, you can agree on KPIs and milestones with the client to unlock a performance multiplier payment, of which you will retain 75%. Linking protecting and growing enterprise value to your financial gain.

There is no cost to join. TFA is a curated network and entry is by application and vetting only. If you're accepted, a monthly platform fee of £85 applies, but this only starts once you land your first contract.

We don't place speculatively. Mandates are live and specific, so timing depends on what's in the market and how well your profile matches active client needs. The stronger and more clearly defined your M&A expertise, the faster we can move when the right opportunity comes up.

We look for genuine, hands-on M&A experience at a senior level, as evidenced by references from previous clients. That means having operated in deal environments, not just advised from the outside. Our current roles include CFO, CPO (People), CTO, Head of Integration and M&A Director. We also have an offline bench of CMOs and CCOs, so if that's your background, get in touch and we'll let you know what's coming to market.

It's a series of short, skill-based assessments designed to map your capability in a PE environment, specific to your M&A specialism. We run these through our partner Dexta.io. Once you're accepted into the network, you'll receive a link to complete the assessment online. It's what allows us to brief clients on your strengths with confidence.

Now is fine. We can onboard you, complete your profile and set your status to not currently available, then switch it on when you're ready. Fractional pipelines take time to build and the best time to be in the network is before you need it.

Yes. TFA works with fractional leaders across the UK and UAE. Providing you can support UK companies, either remotely or with flexibility to travel when mandates require it, get in touch.

You contract directly with the client through your limited company. TFA works with New Legal, who supply NDAs and industry-standard contracts at no extra cost to be used between your limited company and the client. If you prefer to use your own contract, that's absolutely fine; we just ask for a copy for our records.
